The health benefits of CBD offer hope to those suffering from chronic pain, anxiety, depression and other ailments. But there are so many different brands and types of High-quality CBD gummies brands on the market that it’s hard to know which ones are best for your needs.
Benefits
It is possible to get CBD from hemp oil extracts or capsules as well as prescription medications, but research suggests that these methods don’t always have the same effect when it comes to relieving symptoms of certain illnesses. One study found that CBD gummies offered more relief for people with rheumatoid arthritis than a placebo did.
The study compared CBD gummies purchased from a dispensary in Colorado that had 6.5 milligrams of CBD to 100 milligrams of amitriptyline, a prescription drug typically used to alleviate symptoms related to rheumatoid arthritis. Amitriptyline has side effects including sleepiness and confusion, but because it is an NSAID, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, patients using it are warned against using other NSAIDs while they are on the drug.
As CBD has no known adverse side effects, patients taking the gummies shouldn’t have any problems with their pain relief medication interacting negatively with CBD.
Research has also shown that CBD can help ease anxiety and depression. The National Center for Biotechnology Information reports that a study of patients with social anxiety disorder who took either 60 milligrams of CBD or a placebo pill every day for six weeks found that those taking the CBD gummies experienced a significant reduction in symptoms and improved psychological well-being.
It’s important to note, however, that there have never been any clinical trials on human subjects to determine the effects of CBD on humans with psychiatric disorders.
As you may have guessed by now, there are many different kinds of CBD oil or hemp extract products available on the market. Some products offer high concentrations, while others prefer to use lower concentrations. Some products are made to be ingested, while others are made to be applied topically.
There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the different ways CBD can be taken and has been taken by humans in the past. For example, some options include smoking it or using it as an oil tincture by rubbing it on the skin. The most common method of taking CBD, however, is actually in capsule form.
How it works
When you ingest CBD, the oil is broken down into a chemical called cannabidiolic acid, or CBDA. This chemical is contained in two types of chemicals found in the cannabis plant: cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA).
In terms of effectiveness, researchers have determined that the amount of cannabinoids in each cannabinoid extraction product matters. If a high-CBD extract has 0 percent THC, this means it won’t get you high. But don’t assume that all 0 percent THC products are completely safe and suitable for human consumption
